Tactical Handgun Instruction
Essentials...
Since you are serious about your training I would like you to begin putting together your range bag with some essentials. You won’t need any of these things for our class. I provide everything you need for that, but before we go to the range you will need the following:
1 - A small range bag of some type
2 - Roll of blue painter’s tape
3 - Eye protection
4 - Electronic noise canceling hearing protection
5 - Some type of brimmed hat that will prevent shells from falling on your face
6 - A pistol of your choice and caliber (more on this in class)
7 - 500 rounds of ammo for your pistol
8 - A holster for that pistol that covers the trigger and reasonably retains the pistol

You MUST have the following down pat in your mind and know them like your name.
- The Four Rules of Gun Safety -
• Loaded: Treat every gun as if is loaded
• Pointed: Do not point any firearm at anything you don’t intend to completely destroy (this is known as muzzle discipline)
• Trigger: Do not touch the trigger until you have decided to destroy something (this is known as trigger discipline)
• Target: Know your target and what is beyond it
-Rules for combat-
You must remember :
-
The first one to get injury is the the one that wins the fight. Injury is not just causing pain. Injury is something that debilitates your attacker.
-
You need to produce two injuries to your attacker to consider them out of the fight. They can still kill you even with a single lethal injury. Most humans can't mentally process multiple injuries. With that said only injure until it is plain they have stopped and aren't a threat.
-
Never, never quit. Stay in the fight. Be the last one standing.
